Application forms are available on this website. Hand filled forms are not accepted anymore. Applicants can type in the columns, print the form and deposit it at one of the Visa Counters in the High Commission along with Sponsorship Certificate and other supporting documents.
Kindly Note: Sponsorship Certificate is mandatory from 07/03/2011 for all visa applications.
General Information and Instructions
Pakistani nationals can apply for the following categories of visa: Visitors Visa | Visitor visa is for meeting relatives or friends in India at their invitation. Applicants traveling on ‘Visitor’ visa are expected to stay with their relatives/friends in India. | Business Visa | Business visa is issued to businessmen/executives traveling to India for bonafide business purposes at the invitation of an Indian business associate | Conference Visa | Conference visa is issued for participation in conference/seminar/exhibitions in India on a specific invitation | Medical Visa | Medical visa is issued for medical treatment in reputed hospital on the basis of appointment letter from doctor | Student Visa | Student visa is issued for study in an academic institution (admission letter from the institution is a pre-requisite) | Journalist Visa | This visa is issued to accredited Journalists |
1. All visa applicants are required to come for personal interview. Applicant will be called and informed of the date and time of the interview.
2. The minimum processing time for visa applications is 15 days.
3. Pakistanis holding dual nationality must apply on their Pakistani passports only. 4. Children should apply on their own separate passports.
5. Validity of the passport should be at least 8 months from the date of submission of the application.
6. All previous passports should be attached. This is not required if the current passport has an Indian visa. In case any previous passport cannot be attached, an affidavit stating the loss of passport and copy of FIR translated into English may be provided.
7. Documentation - Please see the list of documents required to be attached with your application. All documents must be clear and legible.
8. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.
9. Visa is not valid for visit to Prohibited/Restricted/Cantonment Areas.
10. The visa fees is PKR. 15/- (Rupees Fifteen only). This is irrespective of the category of visa, number of entries or duration. The fees is non-refundable whether visa is issued or not.
11. No reasons may be assigned for non-issuance of visa.
12. Applicants can also deposit their visa applications through courrier services / drop box facilities of TCS (http://www.visatronix.com/index.aspx) or Gerrys (http://www.fedex.com/pk/).
13. In case of applications deposited at the counter, every applicant will be given a receipt which mentions the Receipt Number (e.g. PAKIV0983908), Name and Passport Number. For any inquiries or communication regarding your application, please quote the Receipt Number.
14. The cash receipt mentions the delivery date on/after which the passport can be collected.
15. Applicants are requested to collect their passports within 1 month of the due date after which the High Commission bears no responsibility. Passports can also be collected through TCS/Gerrys (for a service fee) by giving them the cash receipt.
16. Applicants applying as a group should perform their onward/return journeys as well as travel within India as a group. Individual travel in such cases is not permitted. Please note: When collecting your visa please ensure that, apart from the visa affixed in your passport, you also receive two copies of Immigration Form (one each for entry & exit) from the High Commission which you will be required to carry when travelling to India and present it at the immigration along with your passport/visa. |

Guidelines for filling the visa application form
Before beginning to fill the application form, keep the following items and information handy:
• Current passport and all previous passports • Details of last visa (visa number, date of issue and category)
• NIC Card
• Place you intend to visit in India and the State to which it belongs e.g. if a person is visiting Mumbai, then in the place column he should enter ‘Mumbai’ and in the State column ‘Maharashtra’
• Name, address and telephone number of your host(s)/business associate/contact person(s) in India.
• Address of place(s) of stay in India.
Filling in the form
1. The form should be typed.
2. The application consists of two sections – A. Personal Particulars and B. Visa Information and is spread over two pages. If you are using the 'Word' format of the form, please ensure that the print-out of the form is in three pages only.
3. Filling all columns in the form is mandatory. However, in case of columns which are not relevant to you, write NA (Not applicable).
4. Visa application form for Pakistani nationals is available on this website. The form can be typed on-screen and then printed.
Taking print-out
5. Two copies of the form are required to be submitted. You may either take 2 print-outs of the form or take one print-out and make a photocopy. Please however, make sure that you sign in original on both the copies.
Photograph
7. Paste recent identical passport size photographs (35mm x 45mm) on all the two copies of the application. The photograph should be with straight frontal face of the applicant and with light background.
Column-wise explanations

You are also required to mention the State to which the place belongs (this information would be available from the invitation / documentation sent by your host in India)
More than one entry/visit is applicable only in the case of Business Visa category.

List of documents required to be submitted with your visa application
For All Kinds of Visas:
1. Sponsorship Certificate: To be attested by authorized office in India (DM/ SP/SDM/ Tehsildar/ BDO/ SHO/ Groups A officer of State and Central Govts/ Principal of Govt college and Principal / headmaster of Govt School) taking responsibility of the bonafide and good conduct of the Pak nationals.
AND
Antecedents/ Bonafide certificate issued by either the Police authorities of Pakistan (not below the rank of SHO) where the applicant is residing or any other officer holding public office in Pakistan equivalent to DM/SDM/ Tehsildar in India, duly certifying the character and antecedents of the Pak nationals.
2. Income criteria:
1. Monthly income above Pak Rs. 25000/-
(Income tax statements/ audited accounts/ salary statements to be submitted to establish the income criteria.)
Visit Visa
1. Copy of the NADRA Card along with English translation clearly indicating the address.
2. Copy of the electricity bill/ gas bill/ Landline telephone bill (any one: as address proof)
3. For employees working in the Government: A letter from the Head of the Department or copy of the clearance received from the competent Govt. authority. OR For employees in the private sector: A letter from the Organization giving the details of designation, duration of service and address of the applicant
OR For self employed: A copy of the registration of the business establishment by the Government of Pakistan with English translation.
4. ID/ Address proof of referee in India: Documents such as electricity bill, telephone bill, ration card, passport, election I –D for identifying the address (any two).
Business Visa
1. Copy of the Income tax return/ audited accounts for the last two years to establish the income criteria: Gross sale/ turnover of the business should be more than Pak Rs. 1 crore per annum OR individual salary of the applicant more than Pak Rs. 5 lacs per year.
2. Copy of the NADRA Card along with English translation clearly indicating the address.
3. Letter from the company/firm in Pakistan giving details of the applicant, his/ her designation and the purpose of the visit.
4. Copy of the membership certificate of any chamber of commerce of Pakistan.
5. Letter of invitation from any registered Indian company/ firm clearly indicating the city to be visited and the duration for the visit.
6. Copy of letter of credit/ correspondence with the registered company/ firm in India.
7. In case of participation in or visiting a trade/ business exhibition / fair in India, details of the nature of participation and a copy of the invitation from the exhibition/ fair authorities or Federation/ Chambers concerned.
Conference Visa
1. Copy of the NADRA Card along with English translation clearly indicating the Address.
2. Letter of invitation from the organizers of the event in India.
3. Letter of introduction from the organization in which the applicant is working.
Medical Visas
1. Copy of the NADRA Card along with English translation clearly indicating the address.
2. Letter of appointment with a recognized/ reputed clinic/ hospital in India.
3. Medial records and diagnostic reports of the Medical patient in Pakistan clearly indicating the diagnosis and recommending treatment aboard for specialized treatment of ailment/ disease for which medical facilities are not easily available in Pakistan.
Student Visa
1. Copy of the NADRA Card along with English translation clearly indicating the address.
2. Letter of admission of the educational institution concerned in India.
3. Evidence of adequate financial standing to support the academic/ living expenses in India during the course of study (bank statement).
